Summary

Published in Asimov's August 2002. Larry Niven teams with writer Brenda Cooper once again in this sequel to "Ice and Mirrors," featuring a small crew being sent to make contact with an alien species for the purposes of trade. This particular species lives in a habitable cloud band on a jovian-type planet or "free floater", i.e. a planet which has formed out of an interstellar cloud without the accompanying heat and light of a star system.
